Make Your Complaints on Sleepy and Speeding Bus Drivers - Malaysia

Following the outcome of the recent inquiry on Sani Express, Lembaga Pelesenan Kenderaan Perdagangan (LPKP) through Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz, Minister from the Prime Minister's Department announced that Safety, Health and Environment Code of Practice or SHE code is made mandatory for all commercial bus operators effective immediately. Through this code, relevant enforcement agencies like the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) will be mandated to carry out external audits on all fleet buses in the country and all fleet operators will be compelled to prepare and submit its internal audits to them.

Looking forward, Road Safety Department would like to seek the cooperation from not only NGOs and the media but also the members of the public to help curb speeding and sleepy drivers by lodging a complain to JKJR for our follow up action with the relevant authorities.

This initiative is part of our ongoing effort to promote community participation in all aspects of road safety.

The publics efforts and contribution can make a difference and assist in promoting self regulation in the bus fleet industry. This will also create an atmosphere of alertness and vigilance as they are being watched by not only the government authorities but also by the media and concern citizen.

Help us make a difference by forwarding your complaints to us. You can forward your complaints to norlida@jkjr.gov.my or through your e-suggestion.

Please include the bus company name, the registration number, the time of incident, the name of the driver if possible, the bus route, location of offence (e.g Plus North South Highway KM232.9) and other details you feel relevant. You can also choose to attach pictures of the bus or drivers (especially the road tax view and any angle view with the number plate clearly visible).

Your feedbacks is much appreciated.
